
Indieburgh Fest Competition
International Independent Cinema
To apply to Indieburgh Fest, films must fulfill all the following criteria:
1. Fiction, animation, documentary or experimental Short or
Feature films;
2. Completed in either 2013 or 2014;
Sections
International Competition - The International Competition for short and feature films is composed of films that have never been publicly exhibited in Scotland and which were completed in 2013 or 2014. First, second or third works, fiction, animation, documentaries and experimental films may apply to this section. The festival is particularly keen to promote the work of new directors.
National Competition - This section aims to give national and international recognition to very recent Scottish shorts and features.
Emerging Cinema – This section highlights innovative works by emerging filmmakers, exploring new trends in world cinema, creative narrative forms, and promising voices.
Documentary – Films using the documentary format. It can reflect on social issues, real life stories or other related thematic.
IndieMusic – A program comprising films – mainly documentaries – focusing on music, especially independent pop/rock and its practitioners.
Submission
1. Deadline: 1st November 2014
2. Online Submission through Wetransfer (https://www.wetransfer.com) directed to indieburghfest@gmail.com
Important: On the message box it should be included : work title, director, and contacts.
3. Successful submissions will be notified on social networks and by
phone. The unsuccessful ones shall be notified by email. The
selection will happen a week before the event.
Language/Subtitling
All submitted films should be in English or English subtitled.

The awards attributed by the Jury of Indieburgh Fest competition are as follow:
